Maine State Ballet

About

Maine State Ballet is a school and a ballet company whose mission is to uplift the Maine community through dance. The school was established ca. 1920, formally the Dorothy Mason School of Dance, and offers year round instruction in classical ballet, jazz, tap and musical theater to students from age 3 through advanced adult. Advanced ballet students have the unique opportunity to be trained in the Balanchine Technique® and Balanchine Style®. Since 1974, the school has been under the direction of Jonathan Miele, Broadway veteran, and Linda MacArthur Miele, former dancer with the New York City Ballet.
